Une femme d'environ soixante-dix ans a été retrouvée morte, dans un coffre de toit, sur un terrain vague, à Lyon. Elle a été soigneusement peignée, maquillée, elle porte une belle robe et a les mains croisées sur le ventre, comme si on l'avait préparée pour son enterrement.
Le Coffre est une enquête policière menée sur deux fronts, à la fois à Lyon et à Bucarest. Côté français, Gendron, un gendarme de la Section de Recherche à un mois de la retraite est chargé du dossier.
Côté roumain, c'est le commissaire Marian Duca qui s'y colle.
Un auteur roumain, un auteur français. un flic roumain, un flic français. Le récit est mené tour à tour par le Français et par le Roumain, un chapitre chacun. Les deux flics racontent leur enquête.
Jacky Schwartzmann est né en 1972. Après un passage par la fac de philosophie, il a été barman, libraire et travaille actuellement dans une multinationale ; expérience qui lui a inspiré Mauvais Coûts (La Fosse aux Ours, Points) en 2016.
Depuis, il a publié, au Seuil, Demain c'est loin et Pension complète.
Lucian-Dragos Bogdan est né en 1976 en Roumanie. Il a été ingénieur informatique, éducateur dans un centre d'enfants handicapés et fleuriste. Il est l'auteur de romans de SF et de polar.
